Paul! This is such an interesting coincidence! I just stumbled across this very fact last week!

Thanks,Scot. When I read that passage in Christian's book, it was a light bulb went off. I had never given it any thought before, but then was like, "Well, duh! It's such a simple thing, but so clearly advantageous in a uniquely human way."

Also helps me understand why I'm always so damned suspicious of dogs' motives. What the hell are they looking at? Just what are they hiding with those dark sclera?
