Just Wrought

Good question from a good friend involved in development asking to identify a "sweet spot" for breaking down silos so that all the people in this room can better collaborate towards developing new work (ideally locally grown).

Good question leading to discussion of potential of collaboration across theaters of differing sizes. In other words, a pipeline. Duh.

Okay, now it's become a pattern-- unique to Seattle?-- that crazy flowers are dominating Q&A because the smart folks are too smart to pipe up.

Things are looking up. A touch of crazy has blossomed in the room.

A good friend asks the question about the one-word play titles, i.e. WIT, PROOF, ART, sucking all the air out of the production space.

(And its true: my one one-word title play TUESDAY has had the most productions. Hmmm....)

Right now Q&A has bogged in a rather tedious, though I suppose necessary analysis of the survey methodologies.

Good Size and Mix

I count 81 people in the room, but it could be more. I am proud to say it is a really impressive mix across disciplines: artistic directors, playwrights, administrators, press.  It is a little disappointing to see how few actors there are here.

Best quote so far: "We are finished with talking with playwrights in one room and artistic directors in another.  This tour is the first salvo of setting playwrights and artistic directors in a room talking to each other."
